ernie the elf | last year’s recap of elf on the shelf at our house!

I guess this story starts two full years ago, with our 2015 holiday card! I adopted an Elf on the Shelf and bought these adorable little signs for what I thought was a clever little Christmas narrative 🙂

Well, the Christmas card was SUCH a big hit with our family and friends, that I decided to bring Ernie the Elf back for a month of fun with Emmet and Sophie the next holiday season. Last year, December of 2016, was the first of what will likely become many years of elfin antics at our house! I shared these images daily on Facebook and Instagram (Emmet’s account), and I had people from all over the world interacting with the photos with likes, laughs, comments, shares, and even requests for holiday cards or calendars 🙂 We are working on cooking up something that I think may be even better than that!

I thought I’d share a blog post with all of last year’s images to stir up some excitement for Ernie’s second year as a December visitor! I can’t wait to share more fun photos with you all, starting at the end of this week!!

mina | old english sheepdog puppy portraits | pittsburgh pet photographer

Mina is an Old English Sheepdog puppy who is working on growing into her huge personality! I loved photographing this adorable little girl, and I hope you love these images <3

I can’t wait to see this little fluffball grow through future portrait sessions!

ben, ruth, and crosby | golden hour backyard session | pittsburgh pet photographer

Affectionately named after sports stars, Big Ben, Baby Ruth, and Crosby are *such* sweet dogs. Crosby spent most of the session yelling at me (see below, ha!), but I know he really just wanted to be my best friend. Of course, I accepted his generous offer 😉

Ruth is the queen of fetch! I wish I loved anything as much as this girl loves her ball 🙂

Big Ben plays the ‘wise older brother’ role well. He sat on my lap during some of the other dogs’ solo portraits – so it’s safe to say he couldnt’ be any sweeter <3

I just loved photographing these three!

khaki | devoted hearts session | pittsburgh pet photographer

Khaki’s sweet momma emailed me this summer about a session for her aging boy, and these two were an absolute joy to work with. Denise and her two sons adopted Khaki as a pup 14 years ago, and since her boys grew up and moved out, her bond with Khaki has only gotten stronger.

There’s truly nothing like the love of an old dog. I’m so honored that I was chosen to capture Khaki’s relationship with his favorite human.

These Devoted Hearts sessions are available for both elderly and terminally ill pets whose time may be limited with their families. They end up being some of my favorite sessions, and I’m so glad I can provide these precious memories to clients.
