A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon an incredible cause. I would never have even thought something like this existed, but it’s such an amazing idea and I was floored by it! The Rogan Rexford Animal Blood Bank was founded by PVSEC, the absolute best emergency vet around. Last Saturday, the Blood Bank opened its doors to healthy dogs over 50 lbs (and meeting some other requirements) to be screened for donating blood. I met some beautiful furry faces and I’m looking forward to gifting a session to each dog when they are back to donate in a few weeks after the screening process is through. Those who were screened will also receive a 5×7 print in the mail in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for those if your pup was screened to be a donor!
It’s an incredible thing that science has come so far that pets can help pets in need of a blood transfusion. Please consider having your dog become a hero! PVSEC will have another screening in the fall, so keep an eye out on my Facebook page for updates on that!
Here are some images from the screening day!
